A GoHighLevel business phone that tracks every call

GoHighLevel's built-in LC Phone system gives you local and toll-free numbers, call routing, recording, voicemail, and missed-call text-back, all logged on the contact record. With tracking numbers, you can see which ad, listing, or page made the phone ring. We set it up so calls become measurable leads instead of entries on a phone bill.

What it does

What GoHighLevel business phone can do

Local and toll-free numbers

Buy numbers inside GoHighLevel for calling and texting. Calls and texts from each number log to the contact automatically.

Call tracking and number pools

Show different numbers by campaign, or use a number pool that swaps numbers on your site so calls attribute to the source, keyword, and landing page.

Call recording and transcription

Record calls for training and quality review, with optional transcription. Both carry small per-minute fees.

IVR and call routing

Build a phone menu inside a workflow that plays messages, collects keypad input, and routes callers to people or departments.

Missed-call text-back

When a call is missed, GoHighLevel can text the caller right away so the conversation continues instead of going to a competitor.

Voicemail and forwarding

Forward calls to cell phones or desk phones, set ring timeouts, and send unanswered calls to voicemail on the contact record.

Porting and migration

Keep the number your customers already know. HighLevel supports porting numbers from outside carriers and VoIP providers.

How we set it up

Configured right, and measured from day one

Number plan built around attribution

We decide which numbers you need (main line, Google Business Profile, ads, print) so each source can be measured without confusing customers.

Porting handled carefully

We gather the account details your current carrier requires, schedule the port, and keep a temporary forward in place so no calls drop during the switch.

Routing that matches your hours

Business-hours and after-hours routing, ring groups, and a simple IVR where it helps. After hours can go to voicemail, a text-back, or an AI receptionist.

Missed-call text-back that sounds human

Short, specific messages (for plumbers: “Is this an emergency?”) with the business name, plus an alert to the owner. Texts require A2P 10DLC registration first.

Call reporting

We report answered versus missed calls, calls by source, first-time callers, and calls that turned into booked appointments, so phone leads show up in the same dashboard as forms.

What GoHighLevel phone usage costs

The LC Phone system is billed by usage on top of your GoHighLevel plan. HighLevel's pricing guide (last updated September 1, 2026) lists US local numbers at $1.15 per month and toll-free numbers at $2.15 per month. Voice runs about $0.0166 per minute outbound and $0.01165 per minute inbound, with call recording and transcription billed as small per-minute add-ons.

Two details surprise people. Calls are billed in full minutes, rounded up. And a forwarded inbound call has two legs, the call coming in and the forward to your cell, and both are billed. Rates change, so check HighLevel's current pricing guide, and ask whether your agency marks up usage.

Text-back needs A2P 10DLC

Missed-call text-back only works if your number can send texts, and US carriers block business texts from unregistered local numbers. Plan for A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration before launch. Approval can take a few weeks, which is one reason we start it on day one of a setup.

FAQ

GoHighLevel business phone: FAQ

How much does GoHighLevel charge per minute for calls?

HighLevel's LC Phone pricing guide, updated September 1, 2026, lists US outbound calls at about $0.0166 per minute and inbound local calls at about $0.01165 per minute, billed in full minutes. Local numbers are $1.15 per month and toll-free numbers $2.15 per month. Recording and transcription cost extra. Agencies can mark up these rates.

Can I port my existing business number to GoHighLevel?

Yes. HighLevel supports porting numbers from outside carriers and VoIP providers into its LC Phone system, and has a separate migration path for numbers already on Twilio. Porting requires account details and authorization from your current carrier, so we collect those up front and keep forwarding in place until the port completes.

Does GoHighLevel have call tracking?

Yes. You can assign dedicated tracking numbers to campaigns or use a number pool that swaps the number on your website based on the visitor's source. Calls are then attributed to the campaign, keyword, or landing page in GoHighLevel's call reporting. For most local businesses this can take the place of a separate call-tracking tool.

How do I set up missed-call text-back in GoHighLevel?

Turn on missed-call text-back in the sub-account phone settings or build it as a workflow triggered by a missed call, then write a short message with your business name. Your number must be registered for A2P 10DLC so the texts are delivered. We also add an owner alert so a person follows up quickly.

Can GoHighLevel set up a phone menu (IVR)?

Yes. In GoHighLevel, the IVR is built inside a workflow rather than in the phone number settings. The workflow plays greetings, collects keypad input, and routes callers by digit to team members or departments. The phone number then points to that workflow. Keep menus short, since long ones increase hang-ups.
