GoHighLevel for Nonprofits
GoHighLevel for nonprofits: an engagement layer, not a donor database
GoHighLevel can make a small team feel bigger: prompt donor thank-yous, event reminders, volunteer texts, and lapsed-donor outreach that runs on its own. It is not built for fund accounting or tax receipting, so we'll tell you honestly whether it should be your only nonprofit CRM or a layer on top of a donor system of record.

Is GoHighLevel a good nonprofit CRM? An honest answer
GoHighLevel is a general-purpose CRM and marketing platform. It's very good at communication and automation: email, texting, forms, events, pipelines, and workflows. For donor thank-yous, win-back campaigns, events, and volunteers, it can do more than many nonprofit tools at a lower price.
It is not dedicated nonprofit CRM software. It doesn't have native fund accounting, soft credits, household giving rollups, or the tax-receipting depth you'd find in Bloomerang, Neon, or Salesforce Nonprofit (NPSP). Your finance and development reporting needs those.
Who it fits, and who it doesn't
- Good fit: small organizations with simple giving, a few campaigns and events a year, and a real need for faster, more consistent donor and volunteer communication.
- Good fit as a layer: larger organizations that keep Bloomerang, Neon, or Salesforce NPSP as the donor system of record and use GHL as the engagement layer, synced through Zapier or webhooks.
- Not a fit: organizations that need GHL to handle fund accounting, grant management, complex soft credits, or official tax receipts on its own. We'll tell you before you spend anything.
Costs nonprofits should know
HighLevel's plans start at $97 per month, with usage billed on top for phone, SMS, and email. We're not aware of a GoHighLevel nonprofit discount, so budget for standard pricing. One genuine plus: registered 501(c)(3) charities qualify for the charity A2P 10DLC texting campaign, which costs $3 per month instead of the $10 standard campaign fee. Brand registration is a separate one-time fee, and approval can take roughly 2 to 6 weeks.
Our nonprofit builds start at $2,500 one-time for an industry build, or $1,500 for a simpler starter setup. If you already have GHL and it's messy, a $397 Health Check (fully credited toward follow-on work) is a low-risk way to find out what's worth keeping.
Registered 501(c)(3) organizations also qualify for special nonprofit pricing on website design and GoHighLevel setup. See /nonprofit-pricing for details.

FAQ
GoHighLevel for Nonprofits: FAQ
Is GoHighLevel good for nonprofits?
It's good for engagement: donor thank-yous, lapsed-donor outreach, events, volunteers, and texting. It lacks native fund accounting, soft credits, and deep tax receipting found in dedicated nonprofit CRMs like Bloomerang, Neon, or Salesforce NPSP. Small organizations with simple giving can use it alone; larger ones should pair it with a donor system of record.
Does GoHighLevel offer a nonprofit discount?
We're not aware of a GoHighLevel nonprofit discount, so plan on standard pricing, which starts at $97 per month plus usage. The notable savings is on texting: registered 501(c)(3) organizations can use the charity A2P 10DLC campaign type at $3 per month instead of the $10 standard campaign fee.
What is the best nonprofit CRM software?
It depends on your size and needs. Dedicated tools like Bloomerang, Neon, and Salesforce NPSP handle donor records, soft credits, and receipting well. GoHighLevel is stronger at automated communication and events. Many organizations get the best result by keeping a donor database as the system of record and adding GHL for engagement.
Can GoHighLevel send donation receipts?
GoHighLevel can send an automatic thank-you email with gift details when a donation comes in, but it doesn't have the year-end tax-receipting and compliance depth of dedicated donor software. If official receipting matters to your organization, keep it in your donor database or accounting system and use GHL for the personal, timely thank-you.
Can nonprofits text donors and volunteers from GoHighLevel?
Yes, after A2P 10DLC registration, which US carriers require for business texting. Registered 501(c)(3) charities qualify for a charity campaign at $3 per month, plus a one-time brand registration fee. Approval can take roughly 2 to 6 weeks. You still need consent to text people and must honor STOP requests.
