Automated review requests and reputation management in GoHighLevel

GoHighLevel's Reputation tools send review requests by text and email after a job, collect Google and Facebook reviews in one place, and help you reply quickly, including with AI. Done right, they build steady, genuine reviews that help local search. We set it up to follow Google's rules and track how many requests become reviews.

What it does

What GoHighLevel review requests can do

Automated review requests

Send a review link by SMS or email when a job is completed, a pipeline stage changes, or an invoice is paid, using workflows or the built-in review request settings.

Google and Facebook in one place

Connect your Google Business Profile and Facebook page to see new reviews in the Reputation tab and reply from GoHighLevel.

Reviews AI replies

Reviews AI agents draft replies based on the review's tone and sentiment, with settings for voice (friendly, professional, empathetic) and which ratings each agent handles.

Review widgets

Embed customizable, mobile-friendly widgets on your website that display your reviews and update automatically.

Guided setup

A setup wizard walks through connecting review platforms and configuring your review link, so requests point to the right listing.

Share reviews to social

Turn good reviews into posts with the Social Planner, so customer words do some of your marketing.

How we set it up

Configured right, and measured from day one

Ask everyone, not just happy customers

Google's policy prohibits selectively asking only satisfied customers for reviews (review gating). We send the same public review link to every customer and handle complaints separately.

No incentives

Google also prohibits offering discounts, gifts, or payment in exchange for reviews. Our request copy asks for honest feedback, nothing more.

Right moment, right channel

The request goes out shortly after the job is done, by text first with an email backup, and a single reminder if there's no response. No endless nagging.

Replies with a human check

We configure Reviews AI to draft responses in your voice and keep a person in the loop for negative reviews, which deserve a personal reply.

Request-to-review tracking

Your dashboard shows requests sent, reviews received, conversion rate, and average rating by month and by team member.

Who it's for

Local businesses where Google reviews drive calls: home services, contractors, clinics, salons, and professional services. Review count, recency, and replies are part of how customers choose between you and a competitor.

Staying inside Google's review rules

Some review setups, including routing options in review widgets, send low star ratings to a private feedback form and only high ratings to Google. Google's policy prohibits discouraging negative reviews or selectively soliciting positive ones, so we don't turn on that routing. Collecting private feedback is fine; filtering who gets the public link is not.

Reputation tools are included in GoHighLevel plans. Review requests are billed as normal SMS and email usage.

Common review mistakes we fix

  • Review gating left on from a template or snapshot
  • Review link pointing to the wrong location or a search page
  • Requests sent weeks after the job, when customers have moved on
  • Negative reviews left unanswered
  • No record of how many requests actually produce reviews

FAQ

GoHighLevel review requests: FAQ

How do I automate Google review requests in GoHighLevel?

Connect your Google Business Profile in the Reputation settings, set up your review link, then build a workflow that sends the link by text and email when a job is marked complete or an invoice is paid. Add one reminder if there's no response. Send the same request to every customer so you stay within Google's review policies.

Is review gating allowed on Google?

No. Google's policy prohibits discouraging negative reviews or selectively soliciting positive reviews from customers. That means you shouldn't send only happy customers to Google while routing unhappy ones to a private form. You can collect private feedback, but every customer should get the same chance to leave a public review.

Can GoHighLevel reply to reviews with AI?

Yes. Reviews AI agents generate replies based on the tone and sentiment of each review, with settings for voice and which ratings each agent handles. We recommend letting AI draft positive-review replies and having a person review negative ones before they're posted, since those replies are read by future customers.

Can I offer a discount for leaving a Google review?

No. Google's policy prohibits offering incentives such as discounts, free services, gifts, or payment in exchange for posting reviews, and reviews obtained that way can be removed. Ask for honest feedback at the right moment, make the link easy to tap, and reply to every review. That approach is compliant and works over time.

Can GoHighLevel show reviews on my website?

Yes. GoHighLevel's Reputation section includes customizable review widgets you can embed on your website with a code snippet. They are mobile-friendly, can combine Google and Facebook reviews, and update automatically when you edit the widget. They work on GoHighLevel sites and on outside websites like WordPress.
