GoHighLevel Pricing in 2026: Plans, Usage Fees, and What Setup Really Costs

The subscription is only part of what GoHighLevel costs. Here is the full picture: plans, pay-as-you-go usage, A2P registration fees, realistic monthly budgets, and what it costs to get the account built right.

How much does GoHighLevel cost per month?

GoHighLevel (HighLevel) sells three published plans: Starter at $97/month, Unlimited at $297/month, and Agency Pro at $497/month. Paying annually costs 10 times the monthly price, so you get two months free. All plans include unlimited contacts and users, and HighLevel offers a 14-day free trial.

That subscription is the floor, not the total. Phone calls, text messages, emails, and AI features are billed on top of the plan as you use them, from a prepaid wallet. Most owners who are surprised by their GoHighLevel bill were not surprised by the $97 or $297. They were surprised by usage.

Starter vs. Unlimited vs. Agency Pro: which GoHighLevel plan do you need?

HighLevel built its plans for agencies, so the differences are mostly about how many client accounts (sub-accounts) you run and whether you resell the software. A single local business rarely needs more than Starter.

  • Starter ($97/mo): up to 3 sub-accounts. The right fit for most single-location businesses running their own CRM, pipeline, calendar, texting, and email.
  • Unlimited ($297/mo): unlimited sub-accounts, basic API access, and the ability to rebill phone and email usage at cost. Useful for multi-location businesses or anyone who needs the API for integrations.
  • Agency Pro ($497/mo): adds SaaS mode, advanced API access, and usage rebilling with markup. Built for agencies reselling HighLevel, not for most owners.

What is included in every GoHighLevel plan?

The core toolset is the same on all three plans, which is why Starter is enough for most single businesses. You get the CRM (contacts, custom fields, tags), sales pipelines, calendars and online booking, a shared inbox for texts, email, and web chat, forms and surveys, websites and funnels, workflow automation, review requests, and reporting. Standard support is included on every plan.

What you do not get is a working system. Every one of those tools starts empty. Pipelines need stages that match how you actually sell, workflows need triggers and timing, and the phone and email systems need registration and authentication before they deliver reliably. That is why setup cost belongs in any honest GoHighLevel pricing conversation.

GoHighLevel SMS, phone, and email pricing (usage fees)

HighLevel's phone system (LC Phone) and email system (LC Email) are pay-as-you-go. These are the U.S. rates from HighLevel's help center as of September 2026. They change, so check the source links before you budget.

  • Phone numbers: $1.15/month for a local number, $2.15/month for toll-free.
  • SMS: about $0.0075 per segment, inbound or outbound (HighLevel lists $0.0083 with a 10% discount applied). A segment is roughly 160 plain-text characters, so a long text can bill as two or three segments.
  • Carrier fees: passed through on top of the per-segment rate, roughly $0.003 to $0.005 per segment depending on the carrier.
  • MMS (picture messages): about $0.022 outbound, $0.0165 to $0.02 inbound.
  • Voice: about $0.0166/minute outbound and $0.0117/minute inbound on local numbers. Call recording ($0.0025/min), transcription ($0.024/min), and answering machine detection ($0.0075/call) are extra.
  • Email: $0.675 per 1,000 emails. Optional email validation is $2.50 per 1,000 addresses checked. A dedicated sending IP, which most small businesses do not need, is $59/month.

AI Employee and A2P 10DLC fees

HighLevel's AI features (Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI, Content AI) can be billed per use or bundled. The AI Employee Growth plan is $50/month per location and includes 1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes. AI Employee Unlimited is $97/month per location, subject to a fair use policy. Phone charges for AI-handled calls still apply separately.

If you text customers from a local number, you must register for A2P 10DLC. HighLevel passes through the carrier fees: about $24.50 one-time for a sole proprietor or low-volume standard brand, or about $71.91 for a high-volume standard brand, plus a monthly campaign fee (typically $10/month for standard use cases, $3/month for 501(c)(3) charities). Each additional campaign costs $15 to vet. Our A2P 10DLC registration guide walks through the whole process.

How a GoHighLevel texting bill adds up: a worked example

Usage math is easier to trust when you can see it. Say a local contractor sends appointment reminders and estimate follow-ups to 400 customers a month, averaging five texts per customer, and customers reply about half as often. That is roughly 2,000 outbound and 1,000 inbound segments, or 3,000 total.

At about $0.0075 per segment, the messages cost roughly $22. Carrier fees at about $0.0035 per segment add around $10. The standard A2P campaign adds $10, and the local number adds $1.15. Total texting cost: about $44 a month, before calls and email.

Now make one change: the reminder template runs 200 characters instead of 150, and it includes an emoji. Each outbound text now bills as two or more segments, and the same volume costs noticeably more. Small template choices, multiplied by every contact and every month, are where surprise bills come from.

Realistic monthly GoHighLevel budgets by business type (estimates)

These are our estimates, not quotes. They use the published rates above, assume U.S. local numbers, count every text as one segment, and use a carrier fee of about $0.0035 per segment. Your volume will differ, and HighLevel's rates can change.

  • Solo service provider (Starter, 1 number, ~500 text segments, ~300 call minutes, ~2,000 emails, low-volume A2P campaign): roughly $110 to $130/month.
  • Local home-service company such as HVAC or plumbing (Starter, 1 number, ~3,000 text segments in and out, ~2,000 call minutes, ~10,000 emails, standard A2P campaign): roughly $170 to $180/month, or $220 to $230 with the $50 AI Employee Growth plan for after-hours coverage.
  • Busy multi-location or real estate team (Unlimited, 3 numbers, ~10,000 text segments, ~3,000 call minutes, ~50,000 emails, AI Employee Unlimited): roughly $550 to $650/month.

What does GoHighLevel setup cost? Offshore VA vs. freelancer vs. specialist

The software is the smaller cost for most owners. The bigger one is getting the account configured so it actually produces leads, bookings, and reports. The market for GoHighLevel setup help looks roughly like this:

  • Offshore virtual assistants: about $3 to $16/hour. Fine for well-defined tasks like building a form from a template. Risky for anything involving compliance, integrations, or strategy.
  • Freelancers: about $25 to $75/hour. Quality varies widely. Many are funnel builders first and CRM people second.
  • U.S.-based specialists: about $75 to $150+/hour, or fixed-price projects. You are paying for judgment: pipeline design, A2P and email deliverability, tracking, and reporting.
  • HighLevel's own help: Agency Jumpstart is $1,000 one-time and Priority Support is $300/month. Both are platform help (how HighLevel works), not strategy for your business or analytics.

How Rapid Web Systems prices GoHighLevel work

We publish our starting prices because hidden pricing is one of the things owners complain about most in this market. A local starter build starts at $1,500 one-time, and industry builds start at $2,500. Monthly support starts at $497/month. A2P 10DLC registration help is a $149 add-on. If you already have an account that is not working, the GHL Health Check starts at $397, and the fee is 100% credited toward follow-on work.

Every build includes GA4, conversion tracking, and a reporting view so you can see which lead sources turn into revenue. George Chapin has spent 20+ years in CRM, marketing automation, and analytics, and our view is simple: if you cannot see what the system is producing, you cannot tell whether it is worth what you pay for it.

How to avoid surprise GoHighLevel bills

Before you commit, run your own numbers through our missed lead calculator. For most service businesses, the question is not whether GoHighLevel costs $120 or $220 a month. It is whether the leads you are missing today cost more than that.

  • Set wallet auto-recharge to a sensible amount and watch the usage report for the first 60 days, before volumes become habits.
  • Keep texts under 160 characters. Emojis and some special characters switch a message to a different encoding and can double or triple the segment count.
  • Validate old email lists before you import them. Paying $2.50 per 1,000 to check addresses is cheaper than a damaged sender reputation.
  • Turn off call recording and transcription on lines where you do not need them.
  • Review wallet transactions monthly and compare them to the prior month. A sudden jump almost always traces back to one workflow, one campaign, or one new feature someone switched on.
  • Start AI features on the Growth plan and upgrade only when usage shows you need to.
  • Audit workflows for loops. A misfiring workflow that texts the same contacts repeatedly is the most common source of runaway usage we see in account audits.
